Seenland Austria 3 – 2 Episodes

Vienna’s long and ever-changing history is closely intertwined with its waterways and the transformations they have undergone. This film takes us on a journey through the many stories that have unfolded in and around the water. Exploring Vienna’s waterways reveals how people have shaped and reshaped the aquatic landscape throughout history — for public safety, to create havens for nature, and above all, for recreation and enjoyment.
In Lower Austria, we discover traces of tropical beaches that existed 17 million years ago, explore the natural paradises of the Danube floodplains, home to a rich variety of birds and wildlife, and learn how people have always used the water not only for trade and transport, but also for leisure and recreation.
Breathtaking landscapes and encounters with the people who live and work here create a vivid portrait of these diverse regions.
