The Lucona Affair

The Lucona exploded and sank. Six seamen were killed. The “Lucona” scandal was given a lot international attention, because of the fall of ministers and high ranking politicians. Rudi Waltz, the owner of the world famous Viennese coffeehouse, Café Demel, is the accused. He arranged the sinking of the Lucona and is brought before court for murder and insurance fraud. The film shows the explosion, the preparation for it, the final search for the ship and discovery of the wreck in the Indian Ocean in a very dramatic way, it also shows Rudi Waltz in court, being sentenced to lifetime imprisonment.
