Unlike her friends, make-up artist Paula cannot have a child. And yet she already has a name for her baby: Lieselotte. Together with her husband Nico, an advertising professional, she decides to adopt a child. However, this turns out to be much more difficult than expected. The list of parents willing to adopt is long. Paula and Nico, both career people, embody the epitome of assertiveness and success. And they set about eliminating the competition. But when a baby becomes available for adoption sooner than expected, the plot takes an unexpected turn.
