Anna and Johannes' happiness seems to be complete with the birth of their son Christian. New plans are being made in the village: the investor Grabosch wants to set up a large-scale hunting ground as a tourist attraction. Although Anna is not really interested in such large-scale projects, she initially thinks this large-scale hunt is not a bad idea, as it could protect her forest from being sold off. But suddenly dark clouds are gathering over the Christeinerhof: Johannes is shot in the forest. Johannes can only think of one person as the perpetrator: his own brother Markus, with whom he had a heated argument over Anna's daughter Elli from a previous relationship with Markus. Anna cannot share this terrible suspicion and takes her brother-in-law's side. This makes Johannes even more angry with his brother and also with Anna. The happiness on the Christeinerhof is in danger of breaking apart. Anna sees only one way out to save her family: she must find the real culprit.
