Entlang der Traisen

The Traisen is one of the largest rivers in Lower Austria and, in its upper course, also one of the purest waters in Austria. It is fed by the two source streams, the Türnitzer Traisen and the Unrechttraisen. Before it flows into the Danube, it covers about 80 kilometers, passing through floodplains, villages, and towns, some of which owe their name to the river. For millennia, the Traisen has been a constant companion to the people of this region.
