Dr. Johanna Lohmann is not yet ready to start a new relationship with the attractive Daniel Winterberg, but the two spend a lot of time together. On a mountain hike they get caught in a rockfall that injures Daniel. The cause was a nearby explosion, but no one has an explanation. As Johanna is tending to her patient, Ines Meissner, who is visiting Daniel's riding stables, arrives. Daniel's ex-colleague jealously registers the familiarity between him and the doctor. Otherwise, the passionate photographer is interested in the impressive Alpine world. To get a good photo, she ventures too far onto a rocky outcrop and falls. While rescuing the unconscious woman, Johanna finds evidence that Ines may have something to do with the illegal explosion. Meanwhile, a family drama occurs on the Bergmeier farm: Leo Bergmeier cannot cope with the sudden accidental death of his wife. In the argument, he blames his son-in-law Gerhard Straußberger for the misfortune and chases him from the farm. Completely desperate, Leo's daughter Verena asks Johanna for help.
