Winemaker Franziska Habicht is proud: Two years after the death of her husband, the traditional family winery is doing fantastically. Her organic Welschriesling is "Wine of the Year", long-term contracts with international buyers are about to be concluded, her son David will continue his father's life's work and take over the management of the winery. When Franziska's neighbor, the major winemaker Josef Fink, wants to buy her vineyard for good money, Franziska can only refuse indignantly. But Josef Fink does not give up, because the cheap producer is under enormous pressure from the discounters' price dumping. Only an increase in the cultivation area can save him. Fate seems to play into Josef Fink's hands: a document from the 17th century turns up, which states that the Habicht vineyard passed into the Finks' possession as early as 1602.
