In almost every big city one can see a familiar scene: A subway station, a park, or a shopping arcade-places which become the meeting place of the local drug scene. This is the case for the Karlsplatz, a city transit junction, where one can find horror, misery and happiness closely alongside each other. For one year the film crew documented the situation there, filming addicts in their desperate struggle between dropping out and getting out. The film crew accompanied social workers who care for these addicted youths. "Addicted" is the authentic story of the struggle between life and death in the middle of the urban jungle.
