Die Landärztin (The country doctor)

Together with her son Max, the successful medical doctor Dr. Johanna Lohmann from Munich sets out to take over her deceased uncle's country doctor's practice in the idyllic town of Großraming. Her aunt Marie welcomes the young widow and her son with open arms. The close-knit village community is quite different: a grown man was expected as a worthy successor to the village doctor. On top of that, when Johanna arrives, she antagonizes the large farmer Leo Bergmeier, the most influential man in town. He practically forbids the residents from coming to her practice. So Johanna's waiting room remains empty. When Johanna saves the lives of the dairy owner Randler's daughter and two other children at the last minute, she is rewarded not with thanks but with a nasty suspicion. She is said to have poisoned the children's milk in order to gain the villagers' trust by saving the children. It is only with the help of the vet Dr. Laurenz Hofer, who is the only one to help her, is able to expose the real milk poisoner to Johanna. The fight against the resistance in the village has one good thing: it has brought Johanna and Laurenz closer together. Then Leo Bergmeier's daughter Verena launches a devastating counterattack that Johanna had not expected...
